X Trench Run isn’t a rogue-like, but it shares some of the DNA of those found in space games. Trench runs, they’re endless. Your goal is simple: last as long as you can, taking out and running from the bad guys.
The game gets faster and more complex as you keep playing. Walls, laser gates, and turrets are closing faster; boss jckets also enter the space ship. You score points for every second you survive, so each trip is a real game of attention and skill and endurance.
How to Play X Trench Run
Gameplay is centered around navigating your ship smoothly and thinking quickly. You need to run through cramped hallways and think on your feet.
During a typical run, you’ll encounter:
- Solid walls blocking your flight path
- Laser gates that need shooting accurately
- Enemy turrets firing on sight
- Warning signs hinting at upcoming obstacles
- Boss ships attacking head-on
Dodging keeps you alive, but destroying obstacles and enemies sends your score flying. This makes for a good mix of survival and risk taking.
Game Controls
One of the best things about X Trench Run is the easy to understand controls:
- WASD or Arrow Keys – Move your spaceship
- Spacebar or Left Mouse Click – Shoot
The controls are very responsive so you can change direction very quickly. This accuracy is necessary because the trench distills into a narrow path and the obstacles grow.
